Anatoliy Shkriblyak: Increasing shopping mall attendance in the face of cold weather

Anatoliy Shkriblyak, President of Budhouse Group, reports a significant increase in shopping mall traffic in the second half of October 2024, which occurred amid a sharp cold snap. Changes in weather conditions have affected consumer behavior, as activity in shopping malls increases with a drop in temperature.

«The season has shifted somewhat, and the cold snap came later than we are used to. However, this gave us the opportunity to observe an increase in attendance, which is a positive signal for the commercial real estate market», — said Anatoliy Shkriblyak.

Additionally, in September 2024, despite the general trend towards a decrease in footfall, the Retailer Wellbeing Index (RWBI) increased by 0.2 points to 29.6. This indicates the stability of the market in the face of unpredictable changes, as the occupancy rate of shopping malls and rental rates for vacant space also showed positive dynamics.

The RWBI index, developed by Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers, is an important tool for tracking the state of the market, allowing you to assess the level of retail health by key indicators such as footfall and vacancy rates.

Despite the challenging times for the economy, Budhouse Group continues to focus on improving its projects and adapting to changes in the market situation. The company is working to renovate its shopping malls and implement new projects, taking into account the needs of the market and consumers.
